Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has matched the record of former captain Wasim Akram by taking 18 wickets in the 2023 World Cup, equaling Akram’s tally from the 1992 edition.

The record for taking the most wickets in a single World Cup on behalf of Pakistan is held by Shahid Afridi, who took 21 wickets in 2011 after playing 8 matches.
